The newly formed Matlock & Dales branch decided to award a Special Pub Campaigning Award in the summer of 2007. Due to the success of this, the branch formalised this award as a Summer POTS award and followed it up with a Winter POTS vote. Two wildcards from the other six nominations also went through to the POTY via a vote.
