Traditional stone built country free house at the end of the village, with the main bar stretching left and right from the door and featuring open fires at both ends. Re-opened as of April 2026, the pub is now run by Trefor Owen and is ‘wet-led’ with their own exclusive brew, a smooth, malty bitter, “Druid’s Drop” by Peak Ales, and three other beers. They sell snacks and light bites over lunchtime.

A large room with comfy sofas, dartboard and TV is down a level, also accessible from the large patio. Outside the patio is reached by grand steps or a slope beside the road. It is equipped with smart wooden tables and (wheelchair accessible) picnic benches.

The pub has a mixed clientele of locals and tourists visiting the Peak District National Park, is dog friendly and there’s a large car park.
